The Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) is a type of leaf-hopper bug. It is invasive to the United States. SLF cannot bite or sting, but can cause damage to plants by feeding on them.

The CT Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES) and CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) have information and helpful guidance on how to identify and stop the spread of SLF.

The CAES is collecting reports of SLF sightings through their Invasive Pest Reporting Tool.

More information can also be found by reading the SLF Quick Facts and Management (pictured below).
