Beach and Bathing Water Program
9/13/26 Update: Due to high amounts of rainfall, it is advised not to swim at public or private beaches in the area.
The beach water testing season is complete for 2026. ESHD will begin water testing again Memorial Day week in 2027.
The Health District conducts weekly beach water testing throughout the summer months. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) established bacterial standards for marine beaches to determine acceptable levels. If one sample exceeds the acceptable limit, a re-sample is taken to determine if the beach should be closed.
Following beach closure, additional sampling is conducted until acceptable limits are reached. ESHD implements pre-emptive beach closures based on rainfall. If rainfall within a 24 hour timeframe exceeds a certain limit, the beach will be closed and resampled until water quality is acceptable.

Seasonal beds: CLOSED
Conditionally Approved Beds: OPEN
All other approved beds: Open
BEACH STATUS:
End of beach water testing season. Next sampling season will begin in May 2027.
